2011 Firefall, MMOFPS


In the event PAX Prime, Red 5 Studios announced a team-based shooter game, Firefall, which was created by Mark Kern, who led the development of the game World of Warcraft at Blizzard along with Scott Youngblood, the former lead designer of the Tribes.

Although not explained whether this game is an online game or not in the press release, but did say that Firefall will bring together hundreds of players at once into a world of open-world that combines a dynamic and competitive multiplayer games are tense and a large scale. Firefall will use the settings on Earth, exactly 200 years in the future, where humans are still alive now were fighting against a race called The Chosen.


"When I founded Red 5, I knew that I wanted to make something different than what I've previously made," said Kern, who also acted as CEO and chief creative officer of Red 5. "I want to use as possible of what I've learned from making the online game and bring it all into a shooter game."


Red 5 is said to be using a system of free games and micro-transaction model for this Firefall, which allows gamers to feel alone all the details of a world filled with conflict without having to pay a penny. But in addition, they still offer a variety of premium items for players who intend to develop their character to become stronger again.




Firefall is planned to be released around the end of 2011.
